Zone wasn't down but i mainly use the ssdir.playsubspace.com so if you don't have it on your directory downloads it fades out. I'll also set up my own directory server soon enough just make sure you can find me and i got hit with a IP change for some reason as usually i keep em for years 
Tho i think something was also messing with the directory servers during the attack phase as i had my lan machines lose connection to the directory servers and i'm always monitoring.
Have to make sure bell isn't messing with me. (unlimited internet biatachs
