Screw match recaps.

Gods no-showed twice in a row, which Three pointed out too. Although the rule about 2 no-shows in a row was written for a season with less than 22 regular rounds, I think it's ok to enforce it here. Especially when it's been going on with Alpha Reunion too.

Now then, we get to the other issues related to this. Grace period for Gods' players to move? Gods to be allowed back in randomly if they can show under the "anything is better than a BYE" clause? If they need a few more players to show.. where do they get them from? No one is allowed to move, at least in theory.

Gods and AR were about to merge at some point. I cannot enforce this, plus it'd be quite the trickshot past the rules. Also it would still leave us with a BYE Round. We'll just have to see Smile

I'll probably get back to this topic later.

4.0.5. -- Number of players, no-shows

The minimum number of players required to start a game is 2. A squad will be kicked from league if they no-show two weekends in a row, or a total of 4 times during the season. All no-shows count as 0-12, same as BYE rounds.

  Alpha Reunion's lack of activity

I've been bothering Caer about this for weeks, and as the league manager I consider his actions to be somewhat questionable.


This week is sort of an opportune moment to complain on the forum as a lot of squads had to play with less than 4. My squad, Alpha Reunion has been struggling with this problem for more than a month, mostly having 1 or 2 other pilots aside from me show to the matches. Having told Caer about this trend in week 11, I requested an exception should be made to the roster lock and players on AR should be allowed to change squads. He said no, because the official rules required 2 no-shows. I cited 2 consecutive matches which should've be enough to satisfy the official rule:


Week 9: April 28th AR vs Requiem - AR showed 2 (Weasal and Badlamb)

Week 10: May 5th AR vs Assassins - AR showed 1 (Mighty Sven)

 

He refused. Now, It's clear to me that AR's activity will stagnate or decline, but despite this Caer has remained stubborn and held to his decision to refuse any players on AR from changing squads.

 

Please weigh in on this issue so it can be resolved. Personally, it's not fun to play on an inactive squad and I think it would benefit the league if some of the pilots on squads with less activity could be consolidated to active squads.

Dueling Tournament Sign-ups

 

Tournaments will be held Thursday nights at 9PM EST hosted by Curtis Lee.

 

Any duelers interested should sign up here or in the 4v4 forums, or by messaging me (Curtis) personally. You don't have to sign up -- you can just show up and hop in the tournament (before it starts that is, unless there is a BYE slot you can fill).

 

Okay now for the good stuff!

 

 

RULES and that good stuff....

 

1) Players can enter the tournament before 9 PM EST, but after 9PM to avoid confusion I'd prefer to lock everything out unless some small changes can be made to the brackets.

2) Seeding... this will be completely random. I will however try to make this as much fun for the new guys as possible. How terrible would it be putting Dr Noose against Nacre on the first round?

3) This is DOUBLE elimination bracket. We will play with this here and there to see how it works out, but needless to say, I want everyone to have a fair chance and have fun whilst doing it.

4) Duels will be best of 3, and only 3 duels will be going at one time

5) Lets have some fun, maybe drink a few and kill each other!!

Llamas and Requiem faced off in a rather lobby battle. Requiem had a leviathan in their line-up and got to use it in the aforementioned lobby fight. They won.

Unhallowed and Alpha Requiem both actually showed 4 (holy substitution, Batman, Unhallowed showed at least 6). AR also lead the game at 1-0 and 2-1, then Unhallowed took the lead and kept it.

Kingnewbie did what he does best and died twice in 6:34, plus picked up a TK (you jerk, you). I don't have much to say about this game in an analytical sense since it just looked like both teams threw in four players. Then things happened.

Perhaps the biggest result of this round is ReDS defeating Assassins. ReDS got a 1-0 lead thanks to penguin being himself. Assassins took the lead, which remained at 2 kills most of the time. Until inevitably penguing dies out at 7-6 for Asses at 39:33. ReDS get a kill to get it tied just 40ish seconds after this, then a kill to be up by one about 2 minutes later. Unsure if Mop's last death is due to a last ditch effort to get it tied or just a death, but yeah.. ReDS win.

Sterling vs. Nuke was either tied or 1 kill either way all game. 14 minutes for the first kill, and 1:10 into the OT for the last. Apparantly a repkill by Rage, who also had 8 FR. Nuke wasted 4 repels, Sterling wasted one.

Seriel Killer defeated Gods 12-0. The big jerk Ra was there too.

TOURNAMENT INFO

#- amount of series of different types of games to be played along with your team, which all have x-number of players. Salary will be use for players. Team's compete on winning as many championship points as they can. Winner of the tournament will be the team with most championship points at the end.


SIGNING FOR TOURNAMENT

Reply to this thread with your nick, or msg Captor or Captor+ with nick. New players are allowed to join for teams during tournament, after certain amount of players have ranked you, for salary and you become eligible.


SCHEDULE

Round(2) of the tournament will be played on the 15th of June at 4pm.



TEAMS/ROSTERS

4- teams, with unlimited roster sizes, but players have salaries and teams have salary to paid to players each week.

Check teams so you know what team you want to join at start. It's still fre movement between teams, so contact Captor, captor+ or reply to this thread if you want to change team.


Player movement between teams is allowed, but it's Manager's job to do it.

As games are played, your salary will raise or lower based on how you do. Team will pick manager for themselves, but it has got to be someone with player knowledge.

Manager of the team will be able to buy / trade / sell players, after each round. Manager of the team can be changed during the tournament, if over 50% of the team players want it to.


Captain of the team will be picked by manager, and that captain will pick himself an assistant captain. If manager is changed during season, then captain and also assistant captain will be changed too.



RATING AND CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS ARE DIVIDED TO GAMING PLAYERS LIKE THIS.

RATING GOES TO PLAYER AND STAY'S WITH THE PLAYER UNTIL THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT.

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS GOES TO THE TEAM, WHERE THE PLAYER IS ON CURRENTLY ROSTERED WHEN GAME WAS PLAYED.

Teams pay buy-in for each player to enter an event. There will be an event prizes such as champion points and cash for teams and for players to rating points.

We play different games everytime, so, everyteam needs warzoner's, powerballer's, 4v4's, duelers, teamplayers, turreter's.

TEAM MANAGER

Manager handles all player movement. Leads the team by doing player trades, controls team money, seeks for good players with low salary to buy and sells overwaged players, also picks team captain. Captain can be changed after every round, if manager want to. Captain and ass. captain sould be managers right hand in team.


If manager is asked to sell a player to other team, the manager has 3 choises: a] Sells player and gains player (value) from other team. b] Deny the offer. c] Suggest a trade for that player.

Manager is locked to squad, so can't sell himself.

So.. let's see. Llamas have gotten 1 death worse.. ReDS are 5 kills better than Shocktech. Sterling is much stronger than a BYE Round. Assassins and Unhallowed have remained exactly the same. Requiem has gotten 4 less deaths better. Gods have gotten totally excellent, and now defeat Alpha Reunion.

Well, anyways. Psyanide carried llamas, at least on the stat page. Also, 0 wr for Llamas over 5 deaths. Nice.

FTNguyen vs. ReDS was a rather sad game. Ahmed tried his best to get to 72 virgins (only got to 5, ho ho ho, c wut i did?), but ReDS just... weren't there. They can play a much better game. They just somehow fell apart.

Alpha Reunion showed up! Hooray. Then they lost to Gods in a game no one saw. 9-Volt breaks the pattern of only people included in the game talking (!items), but we got this

Unhallowed and Assassins seem to have been going for some sort of a record in killing as many people as possible in one spot. Check the kill chart, slightly above the triangle.

Nuke's roster is more rebellious than that of Rebels, spectating their game to "not play for this idiot" (meaning Dre). Nuke didn't have much going even before Dre died out though. Oh, Nacre lagged out before that too.

Apparently Dagger stumbled onto the weird bug? glitch? lag related? issue where you register a death on the bot, but somehow at least a few packets here and there go missing, resulting in you either 1) respawning in the same spot with toys but no energy 2) without toys in a warped spot 3) without toys and energy in the same spot. Well, Sterling weren't total dickwads and kill him before Ra subbed him.

Probably a blow to squad morale, but game on. Everyone but Rage seems to understand it. Oh well, after that incident Rebels went on an exploding spree and Sterling picked up the win in under 20 minutes.
